Health Insurance Counselors Needed for the APPRISE Program

The APPRISE Health Insurance Program is looking for volunteer counselors to provide assistance to help individuals understand their Medicare and other Health Insurance Benefits. The trained volunteer will assist people in making sound decisions and completion of their paperwork for the insurance that's best for them.

A Criminal Record Check and reference checks are required by our organization. No cost to volunteer.

                                                                                                                                                                      Duties are; Counseling and assisting individuals with:

*Medicare benefits *Medicare enrollment *Medigap polices *Long Term and Coordinated Care *PACE/Pharmacy benefits *Claim assistance/paperwork *Medicare disabled 60-65 and under 60 *Managed Care enrollment 

Qualifications Needed: *Ability to read and write *Ability to complete necessary training * Ability to understand forms

Special Requirements: *Good verbal and written communication skills * Ability to understand and to honor confidentially

Time Needed: Time requirement varies. A time will be determined and client will have appointments scheduled for the volunteer.
